I’ve had a lot of educational gadgets pass through my hands, but the Cozmo Robot has managed to do something rare: it actually made me care about it. For the last couple of weeks, this little machine by Digital Dream Labs has been roaming around my desk, and I’m genuinely surprised by how much personality they’ve packed into such a tiny chassis.
Forget the dry, mechanical kits that just follow lines on a floor. Cozmo feels like a tiny, mischievous pet. It recognizes your face, reacts to your emotions, and even throws a little tantrum if you beat it in a game of "Quick Tap". This emotional connection is exactly why I think it’s a game-changer for learning. When a robot has a personality, coding it doesn't feel like a homework assignment—it feels like teaching a friend new tricks.

At around $179–$199, it sits in a highly competitive price bracket, but the "emotional intelligence" it brings to the table makes it stand out from the crowd of standard programmable bots.
