I have been tracking personal flight tech for a long time, but I just came across something that completely blew my mind. For years, tech companies have been promising us "flying motorcycles," but they almost always end up being oversized, battery-powered drones that sound like giant hummingbirds.
Well, JetPack Aviation just threw that playbook out the window with the JPA Speeder.
I was looking at the design of this thing, and I honestly couldn't believe it wasn't a movie prop. Instead of heavy electric batteries, they strapped four actual jet turbines onto a motorcycle frame. Yes, you read that right. It runs on actual jet fuel (or diesel) and roars like a fighter jet.
Here is why this beast immediately caught my attention:
Insane Top Speed: This isn't a slow hovercraft. The Speeder is designed to hit 150 mph (240 km/h).
The AI Co-Pilot: My first thought was, "I would instantly crash this." But the genius part is the AI fly-by-wire system. The onboard computer auto-stabilizes the thrust hundreds of times per second. You just use standard motorcycle-style handlebars, and the AI handles the complex physics of not falling out of the sky.
The Altitude Flex: It has a theoretical ceiling of 15,000 feet. You'd literally need an oxygen mask up there!
But before you start clearing space in your garage, I have to give you the reality check I gave myself.
This absolute monster of a machine costs $380,000. And because jet engines drink fuel like crazy, you only get about 10 to 30 minutes of flight time. Plus, at 120 decibels, your neighbors are going to call the cops the second you fire it up.
I was so fascinated by how they managed to cram all this thrust and AI into a bike chassis that I wrote a complete deep dive over on the main site. If you want to see the full breakdown of how this crazy machine actually works, check out my full article here:

It’s completely impractical for going to the grocery store, but as a pure engineering marvel, it is a masterpiece.
So, I have to ask: If you suddenly had $380,000 to blow on a toy, are you playing it safe with a luxury supercar on the ground, or are you buying this jet-powered monster to fly right over the traffic jams? Let me know down in the comments!
